Icons that came from Feather, the project Lucide grew out of, are also under the MIT License. This guide explains what that means in practice. It isn't legal advice, so if your situation is unusual, check with a lawyer.

Can I use Lucide icons in a commercial product?

Yes. The ISC License lets you use, copy, modify and distribute the icons, for free or for profit. Using them in the interface of a commercial app, website or SaaS product is exactly what they're for.

Do I need to credit Lucide?

Not in your app's interface. The license asks that its copyright and permission notice be included "in all copies" of the software, which in practice applies when you redistribute the icons themselves. If you ship Lucide in a package or icon pack, include its license file. Most apps already do this through the license notices their bundler or app store listing collects.

What about the Feather icons?

115 of Lucide's icons (such as
search
,
x
,
check
and
calendar
) started in Feather and are also covered by Feather's MIT License, © Cole Bemis. The MIT License has the same practical requirements: keep the notice when you redistribute the icons. The full list is in Lucide's license text.

Can I modify the icons?

Yes. Change the stroke width, colors, sizes or shapes as you like, and use the result in your work. If you redistribute your modified icons as a set, keep the license notice.

Can I sell Lucide icons?

You can include them in paid products (a template, a theme or an app), but selling the unmodified icons as your own icon pack is poor form and misleads buyers, and you'd still need to include the license. Bundling them as part of something you built is the normal use.

Where do I find the license?

The license page on this site has the full text, from the
lucide-static
package.
